La Trobe University

The Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics has now been replaced by a new course which started in 2009 being a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics.

This course can be undertaken at La Trobe University Bundoora Campus. The four year course includes three blocks of clinical placements. The Orthotic and Prosthetic Unit at RCH takes students during their final year of studies for clinical placements. For further information on the course visit the La Trobe University.

We do not offer placements for work experience due to Occupational Health and Safety issues.

The Australian Orthotics and Prosthetics Association 

The Association is committed to provide continuing education of the highest standard. Newsletters, seminars, workshops and publications keep members and industry colleagues up to date on all matters relevant to the profession including the latest clinical and technical research and development. The AOPA Continuing Professional Development Program ensures members are encouraged and rewarded for their continuing education efforts.

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO), is a multi-disciplinary organization comprised of persons who have a professional interest in the clinical, educational and research aspects of prosthetics, orthotics, rehabilitation engineering and related topics.
